The Academician A.G. Shipunov Instrument Design Bureau has developed a guided missile with protection against critical overheating during hypersonic flights. This technical solution ensures reliable operation of onboard equipment when moving through dense atmospheric layers at speeds of M≥5.
Wedge-shaped protective protrusions are made on the outer surface of the body in the areas where the rudders and antennas are installed. In the rudder area, they are bosses on both sides of the consoles, with the rotation axes of the rudders located in the cylindrical part of the nose section. In the antenna area, the protrusions are mated with the bearing surfaces of the missile blades, forming internal obtuse angles.
This aerodynamic configuration, according to the developers, reduces thermal loads on the body and protects dielectric antennas and high-frequency cables from destruction. This increases the reliability of the control equipment units' functioning in the active trajectory segment. The product can be used in missile systems for various purposes. Specific tactical and technical characteristics are not disclosed.
