IZh-58 Double-Barrel Shotgun Helped Defend Grad MLRS from Seven FPV Drones

The Soviet shotgun with shot sizes #1 and #3 left no chance for the drones

A Soviet IZh-58 double-barrel shotgun helped a Grad MLRS crew repel a massive drone attack. During the raid, some FPV drones were suppressed by electronic warfare systems, while a heavy copter with drops was destroyed by a shot from a hunting rifle, said the combat vehicle commander with the call sign Pchelovod.

The commander reported that the raid began suddenly. According to him, after the first FPV drone appeared, six more devices joined the attack within a minute.

Most of the drones were neutralized by electronic warfare systems. Losing control, the devices fell without reaching their target.

After that, a heavy copter equipped with a munition drop system appeared in the air. To destroy it, the commander's personal hunting weapon – a Soviet IZh-58 double-barrel shotgun – was used. After being hit, the drone crashed to the ground, and the munitions did not detonate.

Pchelovod said that he always keeps the IZh-58 with him specifically as a means of combating low-flying drones. According to him, the shotgun remains convenient due to its light weight, and for shooting at aerial targets, he uses shot sizes #3 and #1.
