Developers of drone detectors in Russia have found a way to detect American Hornet drones by intercepting their signature. This was reported by the company that produces the Tyen' complex.
Engineers noted that with Hornet, the key difficulty was that the detectors simply did not see their frequencies. The updated devices now study the speed of signal movement and distinguish different telemetry protocols.
This gave us an understanding that we also need to move away from standard frequencies and change the non-standard algorithms of the Tyen' detectors, which are now capable of intercepting Hornet signatures.
After a Hornet flight is detected, short-range assets, such as the Strela-10, or Molniya-PVO interceptor drones, can be deployed.
The latter are much cheaper than traditional anti-aircraft missiles and pursue the target including on a pursuit course.
