An illegal crypto farm, disguised as beehives, operated for almost a year on a dacha plot belonging to a Tyumen resident without her knowledge. The woman couldn't visit for a long time due to a washed-out road, and when she finally reached her land, she discovered several unfamiliar structures emitting a continuous hum. Inside were cryptocurrency mining rigs, according to "Baza".
Who placed the equipment on someone else's property is still unknown. The crypto farm operated all this time without the owner's knowledge, and it drew electricity from the common grid.
No one noticed a sharp increase in any specific bill: the costs of operating the equipment were imperceptibly distributed among other consumers.
After the discovery, the equipment was dismantled. The dacha owner contacted the police, who will have to find out who occupied her plot and paid for cryptocurrency mining at the expense of her neighbors.
This is not the first such case in Tyumen. Previously, energy workers discovered mining farms in four rented apartments. The organizer drilled through walls and connected to power grids bypassing meters, and the property owners later received bills for more than 800,000 rubles.
