The Supreme Court recognized as extremist and banned the hacker groups Silent Crow* and "Kiberpartizany BY" in Russia. The decision is subject to immediate execution, and later the organizations must be included in the Ministry of Justice's list.
The court decided to grant the Prosecutor General's request, recognize the hacker groups as extremist, and ban their activities in the Russian Federation.
Both groups claimed involvement in the massive system failure at Aeroflot on July 28, 2025. At that time, the airline canceled and rescheduled dozens of flights from Sheremetyevo due to IT infrastructure problems.
The hackers claimed they had been inside the corporate network for about a year, downloaded 22 terabytes of data, and destroyed 7,000 servers. Aeroflot did not confirm this information, and Roskomnadzor later reported that no personal data leaks of clients and employees were found.
"Kiberpartizany BY" has been operating since 2020 and opposes the authorities of Belarus, where the association was recognized as terrorist back in 2021. Silent Crow* appeared in 2025 and is known for statements about hacking Russian companies and government resources.
