Rosneft commissioned 14 new facilities for APG processing and brought gas utilization at key assets to 92%

The company added powerful infrastructure at the largest fields in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Tyumen Region

Rosneft has completed the construction of 14 large gas infrastructure facilities at oil fields in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Tyumen Region. The new capacities have made it possible to increase the volume of associated petroleum gas (APG) utilization, reduce raw material losses, and improve the environmental efficiency of production enterprises.

In 2025, the company invested 52.9 billion rubles in the development of projects for APG processing and utilization. The work was carried out within the framework of Rosneft's investment gas program, which provides for the development of pipeline infrastructure, the construction of compressor facilities, and the introduction of new gas preparation technologies.

One of the most significant projects was the booster compressor station at the Severo-Komsomolskoye field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. After the facility was put into operation, an additional 700 million cubic meters of gas were brought into beneficial use. By the end of 2025, the APG utilization level at the enterprise reached 95%.

At the Russkoye field of Tyumenneftegaz, the first stage of a new boiler house with a capacity of 232 MW began operation. The equipment is used for oil preparation and heating of the working agent, which is used in the reservoir pressure maintenance system. This allows increasing the efficiency of high-viscosity oil production.

Another direction was the construction of gas pipelines for supplying raw materials from Samaraneftegaz assets to the company's gas processing enterprises. The new infrastructure should increase the utilization of processing capacities and increase the volume of associated gas utilization.

In addition to large facilities, Rosneft is implementing technological solutions to improve the efficiency of the gas system. Orenburgneft specialists have developed a technology for purifying APG from sulfur compounds directly in the pipeline. A special reagent reduces the content of hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans without the construction of additional purification units.

After the introduction of this technology at the Vakhitovskaya group of fields, the volume of associated gas utilization increased from 20 thousand to 80 thousand cubic meters per day. The prepared gas is sent for further processing to the Zagorskaya unit.

By the end of 2025, the APG utilization level at Rosneft's mature assets reached 92.2%. The company also continues to work on carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. In 2026, the first field tests for CO₂ injection at fields in the Ural-Volga region and Western Siberia are planned.
