Home Internet Prices Double Faster Than in 2025: Up 20% in Six Months

Network load increased due to mobile communication restrictions; FAS began market monitoring

Home internet tariffs in Russia have started to rise at an accelerated pace. According to "Izvestia," citing market participants and TMT Consulting data, the cost of services increased by 10–20% in the first half of 2026, depending on the region and operator, whereas the growth for the entire year 2025 was only 5–7%.

Federal providers raised prices gradually and unevenly. Rostelecom added about 60 rubles to some tariffs, Er-Telecom Holding about 100 rubles, with the average monthly user payment increasing by 5%. For smaller regional operators, the basic service still remains at 400–600 rubles per month, but they are also forced to index prices due to rising costs for equipment, electricity, and the wage fund.

The main driver of the price increase is the growing load on fixed networks after the spring restrictions on mobile internet. Subscribers massively switched to home Wi-Fi, and providers had to increase bandwidth. The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, together with the FAS, are already monitoring the situation and promise inspections if unjustified increases are found. Market participants predict further indexation of 12–15% in the second half of the year if regulators do not intervene.
