Novosibirsk company "Aqualight" repaired a DWT 3200 t pontoon barge with overall dimensions of 92×36.9 m in Sovetskaya Gavan, Khabarovsk Krai. This was reported by the press service of the ship repair enterprise.
Having assessed the technological limitations and strict timeframes, our specialists decided to repair the barge hull on the water.
This avoided the costs of transporting and lifting the vessel in a dry dock.
The repair of the pontoon barge took 3 weeks. Mooring at the pier allowed the use of wheeled crane equipment.
Khabarovsk shipbuilders artificially heeled the vessel using ballast. After that, they replaced the sheet plating, restoring the damaged section of the vessel's port side. The work was carried out above water; no diving equipment was used.
In parallel, specialists updated the deck flooring in the engine room area, replaced ventilation system pipes and elements of the barge's fender protection.
