The United Aircraft Corporation handed over to the Ministry of Defense new batches of Su-34 front-line bombers and Su-30SM2 multi-role fighters. One detail unexpectedly allowed to assess the scale of Russian combat aircraft production, according to the publication "Aviation of Russia".
For the first time in a long while, the state registration number of one of the new Su-34s – RF-81920 – was visible in the footage published by OAK.
Journalists compared the new Su-34 number with the registration numbers of Su-57 fighters RF-81777 and RF-81778, which were spotted in May 2022 at Tolmachevo Airport during a flight from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to their duty station.
Assuming sequential assignment of registration numbers, approximately 145 combat aircraft of various types of front-line aviation could have entered service with the Russian Aerospace Forces and naval aviation between May 2022 and July 2026.
The average pace of production and delivery of combat aircraft is estimated at approximately 35 aircraft per year.
