Serial production of automotive catalysts for heavy vehicles has been launched in Novouralsk. The company "Ekoalyans", part of Rosatom's fuel division, has put into operation a robotic line with a capacity of over 200 thousand elements per year.
The enterprise will produce catalytic converters for diesel and gasoline engines, corresponding to environmental classes Euro-5 and Euro-6. They purify exhaust from harmful substances and allow car manufacturers to meet stricter emission requirements.
According to the company's estimates, the capacity will be sufficient to fully cover the current needs of Russian truck manufacturers. Previously, the localization of such components was only 20–30%, and there was no industrial production of catalysts for diesel engines above Euro-4 in the country.
Robotization should ensure stable quality and transition from small batches to full-scale serial production. "Ekoalyans" controls the entire chain – from raw material procurement to block manufacturing and their maintenance.
