Cryptocurrency Accelerates Payments: Alfa-Bank Enters International Settlements Market

Alfa-Bank has started conducting international settlements for businesses using cryptocurrency. There are no restrictions on minimum or maximum amounts, and funds are promised to be delivered to foreign counterparties in approximately two minutes.

Until September 1, the commission starts from 0.16%, then it will increase to 0.3%. The same basic tariff applies to A7 – one of the largest players in this market. The company uses the ruble-pegged stablecoin A7A5, which has already become the second largest token by transfer volume on the TRON network.

The scheme likely works through intermediaries: the client submits an application in the online bank, rubles are converted into a stablecoin and sent to a verified foreign address. Experts name Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and other CIS countries as the most probable destinations.

But speed has a downside. Foreign platforms may detect a "Russian trace" in the chain and halt the operation, and issuers of popular stablecoins may block the flagged address. Such systems will pay particular attention to large payments.
