Tugboat "Kapitan Ushakov" to be sent to Yaroslavl Shipyard for repairs

Workers have almost completed the operation to raise the tugboat "Kapitan Ushakov" (Project 23470), which sank at the Baltic Shipyard pier. After correcting the list, it will be sent to the Yaroslavl Shipyard for repairs.

Specialists sealed the tugboat's hull to limit water ingress. After that, they began pumping water out of the internal compartments.

Andrey Shpigel, CEO of BaltSpetsFlot, stated that there were difficulties at various stages of the operation.

I don't know who has done work like we are doing. Among other things, the vessel could have hit the pier, and we cannot damage it.

"Kapitan Ushakov" is the fifth sea tug of Project 23470, which partially sank in August 2025. Due to this incident, the Neva River suffered damage amounting to more than 650 million rubles.

The vessel was laid down at the Yaroslavl plant in 2017. In 2023, it arrived at the Baltic Shipyard for completion. Experts say that its repair may require about 900 million rubles.
