Aurus didn't make it in Dubai? Russian car dealership still hasn't opened a year after announcement

The launch dates for the Russian luxury brand's dealership in the UAE remain unknown

The official Aurus dealership in Dubai has still not opened, although its launch was planned for September 2025. According to the Telegram channel "Avtovoz", the entrance door of the car dealership is locked, there is no work schedule on the building, and inside there are the same three Senat sedans – blue, black, and white – that were there a year ago.

The idea of Aurus entering the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market emerged in 2019, when the Arab fund Tawazun invested €110 million in the project, acquiring a 36% stake and the status of general distributor in the region. In late 2023, it was officially announced that large-node assembly of Aurus Senat would begin in Abu Dhabi.

In spring 2024, Tawazun exited the capital of the Russian brand, transferring its stake to NAMI, and then, in 2025, a controlling stake in Aurus (51%) was transferred to a subsidiary of Gazprom. In the autumn of the same year, a showroom with Aurus signs appeared in Dubai, but the car dealership is still not operational.
