Gasoline and diesel can be bought in canisters again: the ban has been lifted in Omsk Oblast

The ban on selling fuel in canisters has been lifted in Omsk Oblast. Now, at gas stations, it is again possible to fill not only car tanks but also separate containers with gasoline and diesel – albeit within established limits. This was announced by the region's governor, Vitaly Khotsenko.

What fuel dispensing rules are now in effect in Omsk Oblast?

Measures regarding purchase volume remain at gas stations:

  • up to 40 liters of gasoline at a time;
  • up to 80 liters of diesel fuel;
  • up to 200 liters at roadside gas stations.

At the same time, sales in canisters are now permitted, but also with limits.

Now, at gas stations, fuel can also be poured into canisters, based on the previously established limits. We are keeping the region's fuel supply under constant control.
Vitaly Khotsenko, Governor of Omsk Oblast

Why were restrictions introduced?

These measures were explained by the need to curb speculative demand for fuel and prevent market speculation.

According to the governor, the fuel situation remains under control.
