T-90M vs. Drones: Tanks Haven't Disappeared, They've Become Smarter

The modern battlefield has forced a re-evaluation of the role of tanks, but has not eliminated them. The Russian T-90M "Proryv" is undergoing a large-scale adaptation to the threat of drones, transforming from a classic armored vehicle into a multi-level survival system, stated military columnist Viktor Voitsekhovsky.

According to him, the key focus of modernization is on protection against kamikaze drones and loitering munitions. The "Proryv" has had its electronic warfare systems enhanced, and the protection of its engine compartment and upper hemisphere improved.

The T-90M today is not seen as a static machine, but as an evolving combat system that changes with combat experience.
