Russian engineers have developed and patented a device for towing passenger cars by partial loading, aimed at increasing the autonomy of evacuation and reducing dimensions during transportation. The patent, registered in the FIPS database, belongs to the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The design is a single-axle trailer with a longitudinal frame beam and a coupling triangle, on which a manual drum winch is installed. Key emphasis is placed on simplifying operation: the ramps are removable and can be repositioned depending on the operating mode. In the transport position, they are fixed to the coupling unit with pins, which reduces dimensions and improves storage convenience. In the working mode, the ramps are installed in the rear support sockets of the frame, forming guides for rolling the car.
Loading is carried out using a winch without hydraulic systems or external power, making the device completely mechanically autonomous. The car is pulled onto the platform along inclined guides, which simplifies evacuation even in conditions of limited access to equipment and service.
Compared to existing solutions, which often use more complex designs or require additional equipment, the new development focuses on minimalism, maintainability, and the ability to operate in single mode.
