Military Technologies Integrated into "Meshchera" Autopilot for Agricultural Machinery

The development by VNIISignal was first showcased at an industry event in the Vladimir region

High Precision Systems Holding (part of Rostec) for the first time demonstrated the operation of the "Meshchera" complex for agricultural machinery automation (autopilot). The demonstration took place at the industry event "Field Day 2026" in the Vladimir region. The system is designed to optimize work and increase the accuracy of agricultural operations, the state corporation's press service reported.

The autopilot was developed by VNIISignal specialists. With its help, agricultural machinery moves along a given route, plows or harrows the land, and applies fertilizers.

The "Meshchera" system is compatible with various types of agricultural machinery, including tractors and combines. At the demonstration during "Field Day 2026", a tractor with the integrated autopilot tilled a plot of land. The autopilot ensured the required processing depth.

The tractor strictly followed the programmed route: it drove along the specified trajectory, performed a turn, and returned to its original position without deviations or human adjustments.

Vladimir Pimenov, Director of VNIISignal, stated that systems like "Meshchera" can digitalize agriculture. This technical solution meets the needs of Russian farmers, he concluded.

The autopilot was developed based on the "Filin" positioning and leveling system and the "Prometheus" software and hardware complex (PAK) (designed for robotizing heavy machinery). This PAK is also used in BMP-3, MGR-4 "Shmel" demining vehicles, and "Depesha" wheeled robots.
