Belarus completes testing of new "Kaskad-MB" complex for artillery

Preliminary tests of the new artillery meteo-ballistic complex "Kaskad-MB" have been successfully completed in Belarus. The development was carried out by OAO "VOLATAVTO" under the order of the State Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The complex is designed to automate the ballistic preparation of artillery. It collects meteorological parameters in real time, determines the ballistic characteristics of ammunition, and transmits the processed data to the automated workstation of the battery's senior officer.

"Kaskad-MB" measures atmospheric pressure, air temperature, wind speed and direction, and also records the initial projectile velocity and propellant charge temperature. After processing the information, the system independently calculates deviations of firing conditions from normative values, computes the necessary corrections, and generates ready-made settings for opening fire.

One of the key features of the complex is the automation of determining the total deviation of the initial projectile velocity – one of the most complex and labor-intensive stages of ballistic preparation. For this purpose, a specialized ballistic station is included in the "Kaskad-MB" composition, which ensures high measurement accuracy.

The use of the complex significantly reduces the time for artillery units to prepare for fire missions and increases the accuracy of target engagement due to automated calculations and operational data transmission via a wireless channel.
