Megawatt-class uninterruptible power supply for data centers created in Russia

The device is easily integrated into the main power system

Engineers from "Russian Electrotechnical Society" (OOO "REO") have developed an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with a capacity of 2.4 MW based on supercapacitor storage. The equipment was presented at the "KROS-2026" conference in Sochi.

The UPS was created according to individual technical specifications for a data center (DC) belonging to one of Russia's major IT companies. A key requirement for the project was to ensure the energy efficiency of the data center. The equipment must ensure its fault tolerance and uninterrupted operation.

Key features of the UPS:

  • Output parameters — 380 V, 50 Hz
  • Supercapacitor storage support time — up to 60 sec.
  • Switching time to operate from the energy storage system (ESS): no more than 10 ms
  • Protection degree: IP20

The UPS from OOO "REO" is easily integrated into the power system and is simple to maintain. The device instantly delivers stored energy, providing power to connected equipment in case of interruptions in the main network.
