The Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP in Khakassia has reached its maximum capacity of 5450 MW for the first time in its operational history. Simultaneously, Russia's largest hydroelectric power station set another record – daily electricity generation reached 127.8 million kWh.
This historic result was achieved with all ten hydro-units of the station operating. The record was made possible by increasing the permissible load after the implementation of a modern digital monitoring system for the Siberian energy system.
This allowed for more efficient use of the station's capacity without compromising the reliability of energy supply.
Despite the record generation, the situation on the Yenisei River remains fully controlled. The average water flow through the hydraulic structure is approximately 2800 cubic meters per second, which complies with established standards.
