AI could strip humans of their status as subjects of history, says Russian Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshenko

The Deputy Prime Minister warned that the human mind is no longer the only and strongest on the planet

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko stated that the development of artificial intelligence raises questions not only about employment and work skills, but also about preserving humanity's role as a subject of history.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, technologies are taking over functions traditionally performed by humans one by one. At stake, he emphasized, are not only jobs, but also humanity's very role in the historical process.

Chernyshenko noted that AI development creates a fundamentally new situation for current and future generations. The human mind, he said, is no longer the only and, probably, no longer the strongest on the planet. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that artificial intelligence cannot be considered neutral, as it is trained on external data and carries the cultural code of its creators.

Chernyshenko added that philosophy is capable of providing the new technological era with a crucial anthropological framework, helping to preserve humanity and resist the temptation of almost limitless opportunities that technologies open up.
