58-ton drum for new steam boiler delivered to Ufimskaya TPP-3

New equipment has an estimated service life of 300,000 hours

One of the largest elements of the new steam boiler, a 58-ton drum, has arrived at Ufimskaya TPP-3. The equipment was manufactured by Barnaul Boiler Plant of Sibenergomash-BKZ company and delivered to the station by rail as part of the power facility modernization project.

The drum is a cylinder over 13 meters long and 1.6 meters in diameter, with a wall thickness of 92 millimeters. It was made from 16GNMA steel, designed for long-term operation under high temperatures and pressure. The estimated service life of the equipment reaches 300,000 hours.

Upon arrival at the station, the drum was moved from the railway platform to a temporary installation site. To perform the operation, specialists used a rigging scheme with two hydraulic jacks and specially prepared auxiliary platforms.

The equipment delivery marked another stage in the construction of the new BKZ-250-100NGM steam boiler at Ufimskaya TPP-3. The next major stage will be moving the drum into the boiler room of the main building, lifting it to a height of 28 meters, and final installation. The work is scheduled for 2027.

Earlier it was reported that Omskaya TPP-4 completed the assembly of the main equipment of the new turbine unit. The station installed cylinders through which steam passes under pressure and generates electricity. Also, Ufimskaya TPP-4 put into operation a new automatic control subsystem for the electrical part of the steam turbine regulation system. In addition, Severskaya TPP completed the installation of the frame, furnace, and main components of the new boiler unit No. 12. automatic control subsystem.
