Moscow designers found a way to blind anti-aircraft radar stations

Specialists from the Moscow company "Scientific and Technical Center for Electronic Warfare" (NTsRB) have developed a new method for suppressing radar stations. The development is intended for active jamming stations and allows simultaneous impact on several radar stations without losing effectiveness.

The inventors propose continuously tracking the distance to each radar station and automatically adjusting the jamming level. When the radar is in the most dangerous zone, the system operates at maximum.

As the target moves away, the power decreases, which saves transmitter resources and simultaneously creates interference for other radars.

According to NTsRB developers' calculations, the new scheme allows simultaneous suppression of up to 6 radar stations. At the same time, the range of effective impact decreases by no more than 1.4 times.

For comparison, with traditional uniform power distribution, this indicator can worsen by approximately 2.5 times.

The authors note that the technology can be implemented during the modernization of existing Russian electronic warfare systems, including Krasukha family stations, without replacing main antennas and transmitters.
