The company "Prepreg - Modern Composite Materials" has patented a two-component epoxy structural adhesive. The development is intended for creating non-separable joints in the aviation, machine-building, and shipbuilding industries, as well as for repairing structures made of metals and composites.
The adhesive consists of an epoxy base and a curing system. The ratio of components is 100 parts base to 27–37 parts hardener. The technical result is an increase in curing speed at room temperature, increased strength and moisture resistance, and a less pungent odor compared to traditional epoxy compounds.
The development is particularly relevant for aircraft construction, where adhesive joints must withstand extreme loads and temperature changes. The use of the new compound allows for reduced assembly and repair time for structures, eliminating lengthy curing processes. Shipbuilders are also interested in a material capable of maintaining strength in conditions of high humidity and salt water.
