Machine vision technology (which allows equipment to "see", analyze the data received, and make decisions based on it without human intervention) from VisionLabs has been implemented on the AvtoVAZ conveyor. This was reported by the manufacturer's press service.
The intelligent system checks the VIN number (a unique 17-character vehicle identification number) on the car body. The algorithm compares the data and also monitors the integrity of the sticker. This is important when the owner registers the vehicle.
Currently, the system is operating in the production of Lada Aura and Lada Vesta. Later, the technology will be scaled to conveyors where other models are assembled.
The Russian company VisionLabs specializes in the development of computer vision and machine learning technologies. Its specialists create facial recognition algorithms, including for the "Safe City" system. The company also cooperates with CBT – the operator of the Unified Biometric System (EBS).
