At the Sevmash shipbuilding enterprise in the Arkhangelsk region, the new multi-purpose nuclear submarine cruiser "Murmansk" of Project 885M "Yasen-M" was laid down. The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Alexander Moiseev, took part in the installation of the keel plate.
According to him, the Project "Yasen-M" submarines embody the most advanced achievements of science and technology.
These are effective naval combat systems capable of solving the entire range of combat missions.
Currently, four Project "Yasen-M" submarines are in service with the Navy — "Kazan", "Novosibirsk", "Krasnoyarsk" and "Arkhangelsk".
Four more are at different stages of construction: "Ulyanovsk", "Voronezh" and "Vladivostok", while "Perm" is undergoing experimental tests.
All Project "Yasen-M" submarines can carry "Kalibr", "Oniks" and "Zircon" missiles.
Project 885M "Yasen-M" was developed by the St. Petersburg Marine Engineering Bureau "Malakhit". Submarines of this type are among the most modern nuclear submarines of the Russian fleet.
