In Seversk, at the construction site of the innovative BREST-OD-300 power unit, a key stage has been completed – the pouring of the turbine generator foundation. The work was carried out by specialists from the Rosatom State Corporation, ensuring the formation of a massive base for the equipment of the future station.
Within one day, 578 cubic meters of heavy concrete were laid into the structure. The foundation is reinforced with a system of 36 spring vibration-isolating elements, which reduce the dynamic load from the operating turbine generator and increase the stability of the entire power plant.
After gaining strength, which will take about two weeks, builders will proceed to install the supporting embedded plates for the turbine and generator. These elements will be further fixed with non-shrink grout, which will ensure precise geometry and long-term stability of the equipment. The completion of the next stage is planned in another month.
In autumn, the site is expected to move to the installation of the main power equipment – a 300 MW turbine and generator, which will be one of the most technologically significant stages of the project.
In parallel, the formation of the "nuclear island" continues. By the end of 2025, the installation of the shells of the central and peripheral cavities of the reactor plant will be completed. The active zone of the reactor will be located in the central zone, and steam generators and circulation pumps with lead coolant will be in the peripheral zone. In the near future, the space between the cavities will be filled with heat-resistant concrete, which will increase the strength of the structure and provide additional thermal and radiation protection for the power unit.
