Foreign sources report the appearance in Russia of a new electronic warfare system, which, they claim, is capable of jamming the Starlink satellite system at a tactical level. This refers to a system appearing in publications under the name "Volna Kupol Garant", whose characteristics have caused a noticeable stir due to its declared radius of action and architectural specifics.
According to data circulating on specialized resources, the complex consists of six trailer-mounted modules. Each module houses two satellite antennas with rotary drives, enclosed in radio-transparent radomes. The design provides for modularity: the antennas can be dismounted from the trailers and deployed on a single platform or installed directly on the ground, which increases flexibility of use.
It is stated that the system operates on narrow-beam channels and generates interference in eight Starlink satellite data transmission bands, each 62.5 MHz wide. According to the authors of the publications, one complex is capable of creating a jamming zone of up to 20 square kilometers.
According to foreign sources, the system is already being recorded as a factor creating problems for satellite communications in the area of application. At the same time, the vulnerability of the installation itself is also noted: the large-sized complex, saturated with antennas, is potentially highly visible to electronic intelligence assets and can become a priority target for high-precision engagement, including unmanned aerial vehicles.
