New Iskanders learned to find blind spots in air defense systems

The onboard systems of the missiles have been significantly improved

Modernized missiles of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) have gained new capabilities to overcome air defense. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Osvyedomitel" with reference to the analysis of foreign sources.

Now, when approaching a target, the missiles are capable of using an active scanning mode and taking into account the limited visibility zones of air defense radar stations.

Simultaneously, the missiles received an updated 9V899 module for deploying false targets and dipole reflectors in the final flight segment.

It is also reported that more powerful computing systems are used to process data from the optical homing head.

Earlier, it was also reported abroad that the military-industrial complex builds about two missiles for the Iskander-M per day. The actual production volumes are classified.
