The Russian military has about 96 S-400 "Triumf" anti-aircraft missile systems in service. This was reported by the publication "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" with reference to foreign sources.
A standard anti-aircraft missile regiment usually includes 2 to 4 anti-aircraft missile systems. In air defense terminology, this formation is called a division.
The regiment is a unified anti-aircraft missile system. It is divided into general control means and fire complexes. It includes the 91N6E radar detection complex and 8 to 12 launchers with 98Zh6E missiles.
However, the number of launch vehicles in a regiment directly depends on the number of divisions. For example, a regiment of two divisions already includes 16 launchers – 8 per division.
State Duma deputy from Sverdlovsk Oblast, Maxim Ivanov, explained that it is irrational to use the S-400 "Triumf" against small drones. Its application nomenclature is completely different – ballistic missiles.
