AI Interceptor Drones: Rostec Showcases Anti-UAV System for Water Environments

The system targets with neural network algorithms

Shvabe Holding (part of Rostec) presented a mock-up of an anti-unmanned aerial vehicle system at the International Maritime Defense Show "Fleet-2026" in Kronstadt. The development is designed to protect marine waters and coastal infrastructure.

The automated hardware and software complex consists of a ground-based optoelectronic station, interceptor drones, and an operator's workstation. The image from the station is transmitted to the monitor. The operator, having decided to engage the target, gives the command to launch the interceptor. The drone is guided to the target area by commands from the station, and in the final section, it is aimed at it using neural network algorithms.

Vadim Kalyugin, General Director of Shvabe, noted that protecting water areas and coastal zones in the face of constantly changing threats requires new approaches. The priority is early detection and rapid recognition of objects. The holding is actively improving optoelectronic devices and systems, implementing artificial intelligence technologies. This allows for the creation of modern solutions for protecting critical infrastructure both at sea and on land.
