Serial production of steering wheels, airbags, and electronic control units for cars has been launched in Russia. The new parts are already being installed on Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups, as well as on Sollers SF5 light commercial vehicles. In the near future, such components will be received by the updated UAZ "Patriot", "Pickup", and "Profi".
Production was launched by the Sollers Group in Ulyanovsk. A full cycle of manufacturing passive safety system components – from steering wheels to airbags and electronic control units – has been organized at the new site.
The company states that it was the first in Russia to master the casting of steering wheel frames from its own magnesium alloy. In addition, the enterprise has introduced modern technologies for laser cutting and sewing materials for airbags.
After the updated UAZ models, localized safety systems are planned to be installed on other Sollers Group vehicles as well.
The project was implemented with the support of the Industrial Development Fund.
