Around 5,000 drones per month planned for production in Sakhalin for Russian Armed Forces

The region mass-produces "Veles" drones

One of Sakhalin's drone development enterprises plans to produce 5,000 unmanned aerial vehicles per month for subsequent shipment to Russian troops. This was reported by the press service of Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev.

Over the summer, the enterprise will produce 8,000 drones. The company employs 17 combat veterans. To expand production, an additional 50 jobs are being created.

Sakhalin Oblast Governor Valery Limarenko stated that more than 7,200 units of equipment have already been sent to the military. In addition to drones, humanitarian aid is also being sent to the soldiers.

In 2026, an enterprise for assembling "Veles" drones (developed by Aero-Khit company) was opened in the region as part of the state defense order. It also develops technologies for countering various types of drones.
