Tanks shoot more accurately than artillery: Russian commander reveals unexpected advantage of tracked vehicles in combat

Armored giants fire from concealed positions and evade counter-strikes

Despite the active development of unmanned systems and reconnaissance assets, tank units retain an important role in the fire engagement of fortified targets, demonstrating advantages over artillery in a number of tasks, primarily due to accuracy and maneuverability. This was stated by tank commander, Guards Senior Sergeant Alexander Polukhin.

According to him, modern tank crews increasingly use concealed firing positions, operating at distances of several kilometers, out of direct sight of the target. This approach combines the tank with artillery assets, while retaining its main features — high maneuverability and aiming accuracy.
