Lada Azimut will have heated side windows: AvtoVAZ reveals unusual option

No other cars on the Russian market currently have such a solution

The new Lada Azimut will receive an unusual feature — heated front door windows. According to AvtoVAZ, no other cars on the Russian market currently have such an option. The side windows will be heated by special filaments, like the windshield and rear window, and the system can be turned on with a regular button.

The discussion was sparked by the words of AvtoVAZ Vice President Sergey Gromak at SPIEF-2026. Speaking about the new model, he stated that there is no heating for side mirrors anywhere. However, mirror heating has long been used in cars, so the company later issued an official clarification.

AvtoVAZ explained that the company's representative was referring not to mirrors, but to the side windows of the front doors. The manufacturer specifically emphasized: Lada Azimut will have both heated mirrors and a new heating system for the windows themselves.

AvtoVAZ is currently preparing the Lada Azimut for serial production. The company is already expanding the crossover's color palette to eight colors. The version with a turbocharged engine is undergoing tests.

AvtoVAZ also assembled a pre-production batch of Lada Azimut and sent the cars to participate in SPIEF-2026. Sales of the new domestic crossover are expected to begin in the autumn.
