The cost of creating a deepfake (photo, video, generated by artificial intelligence) does not exceed 50 rubles, but with its help, millions of rubles are stolen. Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, stated this during his speech at the SPIEF.
The average check of stolen money when using deepfake technology is 16 million rubles.
Earlier, the Center for Digital Expertise of Roskachestvo announced a high level of development of AI technologies. Generated video and audio materials have become difficult to distinguish from real ones. Experts advised Russians to be attentive and critically evaluate information that might turn out to be a deepfake.
Punishment for creating deepfakes may be introduced in Russia. Senator Vladimir Kozhin proposed amendments to the law "On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection", providing for fines and criminal liability.
