Tekhnofront "RusVesna" presented the "Snowman" product – a compact device for an artillery compass, created on a 3D printer. It combines a beacon for aiming and scale illumination. According to the developers, "Snowman" is already being used by rocket artillerymen.
The main task of "Snowman" is to facilitate work in the dark. Thanks to the combined design, the artilleryman does not need to use separate devices for illuminating the aiming devices. To adapt to different weather conditions, the device is equipped with brightness control for both the beacon and the scale illumination.
To reduce the likelihood of the enemy detecting the position, a removable rotating shutter was added to the kit. It allows directing the beacon light into a sector 60 degrees wide, without scattering it to the sides. The beacon and illumination have separate power sources, and the body contains one spare battery for each of them.
"Snowman" has already entered the troops and, according to military reviews, is successfully used in operation.
