"Severstal Engineering" and KAMAZ presented a joint development at the COMvex-2026 exhibition – the NefAZ-95094 semi-trailer with increased payload, the press service of Severstal told "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
The novelty is the first four-axle model in the NefAZ line (a subsidiary of KAMAZ in Bashkortostan) with a body volume of 24 cubic meters and a carrying capacity of 27.125 tons. The semi-trailer is designed for transporting bulk construction and industrial goods. At the exhibition, it was shown coupled with a K5 series tractor unit – KAMAZ-65659, whose frame is made of 600 strength class ferritic steel produced by Severstal.
The platform design was purposefully modernized: engineers changed the geometry and redesigned the main elements. A combination of three grades of high-strength steel from the POWERS line – Powerform 460, 500, and 700 – was used for the production of the frame and body. This allowed reducing metal intensity by 20% while maintaining the required characteristics and reliable operation in all calculated modes.
Reducing the semi-trailer's own weight makes it possible to transport more than 500 kilograms of additional cargo on each trip without violating transportation rules and weight control, providing direct economic benefits for the carrier. The full cycle – from client request to metal fabrication – took 3.5 months.
