Russian users have encountered massive problems accessing the Chinese neural network DeepSeek. The web version of the chat.deepseek.com service and the official mobile application have stopped opening stably with a direct connection, while access is maintained via VPN.
Complaints began to arrive on June 24. Users report that the site does not load, the neural network does not respond or does so with a long delay. A check by the "Koda Durova" editorial office also showed that the service is unavailable without a VPN, and when connected via foreign servers, it opens in normal mode.
According to Detector404, after a sharp network failure, the number of requests quickly grew: in a short time, the service recorded more than 1.1 thousand operational reports of problems, and over 24 hours, the total number of complaints exceeded 21 thousand.
According to technical signs, the problem may be related not to DeepSeek itself, but to traffic passing within Russia. In particular, a connection break is observed at the TLS stage, which is sometimes characteristic of filtering through technical means of countering threats. However, there is no official confirmation of this version, so it is not yet possible to talk about the specific reason for the service's unavailability.
At the time of publication, DeepSeek had not issued official statements about possible restrictions or technical problems. Previously, the service remained one of the few major foreign AI products that did not officially restrict access for users from Russia.
