In Russia, a protective casing has been developed for the transport-dispensing containers of ground-based robotic remote mining systems (NRTK). The new design is intended to prevent the jamming of the mine feeding mechanism during firing.
According to the project authors, during the operation of the combat module, spent casings often fell into the transport-dispensing containers. This hindered the movement of mines and could lead to the stoppage of the dispensing mechanism and the failure to complete the mission.
To solve the problem, engineers created a trapezoidal protective casing made of polycarbonate. The structure is attached to the container with hinges and secured with tension locks. During firing, the casings roll down the surface of the casing onto the ground and do not fall into the container.
The developers note that the new design increases the reliability of the transport-dispensing containers and reduces the likelihood of system failure in combat conditions.
