T-Bank has launched international transfers to UnionPay Global cards in 61 countries. Previously, clients could only send money via this channel to China — to cards issued within the country. Now, transfers are available to UnionPay cards issued in dozens of states, with the recipient's actual location being irrelevant.
UnionPay Global is the international arm of the Chinese payment system UnionPay. Through the new service, money can be sent to Asian countries, including China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Singapore, as well as to Europe — for example, France, Germany, Belgium, and Spain. A full list of destinations is available in the "Payments" section of the T-Bank app.
The bank notes that the service has effectively transformed into a full-fledged international transfer network. Money can be sent to oneself or to other people, and crediting occurs instantly. A ruble account in T-Bank, the recipient's card number, and their full name in Latin script are required for the transfer. SWIFT, IBAN, and a separate card for the sender are not required.
Up to 5,000 US dollars or the equivalent of this amount in the transfer currency can be transferred in one operation. The monthly limit for free transfers depends on the subscription level: up to 20,000 rubles without a subscription, up to 50,000 rubles with Pro, and up to 100,000 rubles with Premium. If the limit is exceeded, a commission of about 1% of the excess amount is charged.
To send money, open the "Payments" section in the T-Bank app, select "To another country," then the country, transfer by card number, enter the recipient's details, and the amount.
