Passenger ships for Krasnoyarsk for 8.7 billion turned into a long-term construction project

The delivery of the "Viktor Astafiev" and "Andrey Dubensky" vessels may be postponed again

The commissioning of the passenger ships "Viktor Astafiev" and "Andrey Dubensky" of project A45-90.2, which are being built at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard of OSK, may be postponed again. The vessels are intended for the Krasnoyarsk Krai and are part of the region's river fleet renewal project worth about 8.7 billion rubles.

Initially, it was planned that "Andrey Dubensky" would arrive in Krasnoyarsk in 2023, and "Viktor Astafiev" in 2024. Later, the deadlines were shifted several times: first to 2025, then to 2026.

The vessels were ordered in 2020, and their construction began in 2021. Under the terms of the contract, the project provides for the delivery of two modern passenger ships for operation on the Yenisei and other inland routes.

Characteristics of Project A45-90.2 vessels:

  • Overall length — 99.0 m
  • Overall draft — no more than 2.0 m
  • Speed — 12.4 knots (~23–25 km/h)
  • Passenger capacity — from 150 to 245 people
  • Crew and service personnel — 41 people

The regional authorities plan to acquire the vessels on lease until 2040, which makes the project one of the long-term infrastructure solutions for river transportation.

As a result, a series of delays has effectively turned the project into a long-term construction. They are already several years behind the original delivery schedule.
