A new all-terrain truck crane KS-55721-6V-1 of the "Komsomolets" series with a lifting capacity of 35 tons has entered the Russian market. The machine features a five-section boom with a length of 41 meters and a KAMAZ-63501 chassis with an 8x8 wheel arrangement. The model was developed by JSC "Galichsky Avtokranovy Zavod".
The new model is designed for operation in off-road conditions, at construction sites and industrial facilities with difficult access roads. At the same time, the truck crane maintains dimensions and weight that allow it to travel on public roads without exceeding regulations.
During the creation of the KS-55721-6V-1, engineers redesigned the metal structures and reduced the weight of the crane unit without compromising strength. High-strength steel with a yield strength of 960 MPa was used for the boom. This allowed for an increase in lifting capacity at long reaches and the installation of a five-section design on a production all-terrain KAMAZ "Mustang" family chassis. In its minimum configuration, the truck crane's weight does not exceed 28 tons.
The five-section boom with an "OVALOID" profile is characterized by increased rigidity. This design ensures more stable and predictable operation at height and at long reaches.
The all-wheel drive KAMAZ-63501 chassis is responsible for off-road capability. The truck crane is equipped with a tire pressure regulation system, inter-axle differential lock, and a KAMAZ-740.725-360 diesel engine with 360 hp. A KAMA 16S1820TO gearbox and a KAMAZ-65111 transfer case are also installed. The machine is equipped with 425/85R21 tires.
The dimensions of the truck crane in transport position are 12.0 × 2.55 × 4.0 m and comply with permissible standards for movement on public roads.
