Seconds to Reload: KBP Shipunova Accelerates Missile Launchers

New device will reduce time between volleys and increase complex mobility

The KBP Shipunova (part of the "High-Precision Systems" holding) has patented a device for loading and unloading missiles in a launch container. The development is intended for anti-aircraft missile systems and allows for faster missile reloading, increasing the mobility of equipment in combat conditions.

The device resembles a strong metal beam attached to a lifting mechanism. It is made in the form of a rail: there is a head (top), a web (middle), and a base (bottom). A node connecting the beam to the hoist is fixed on the head. Guides for parts holding the missile container are attached to the base on both sides of the web.

The guides consist of three parts. Two of them are at opposite ends of the beam and have a complex shape. Between them is the third part – U-shaped trays with inwardly curved edges. At the end of the beam, on the side of the missile's nose, there is a retainer that holds the container. Flanges with two connectors for electrical connection are also fixed there.

Thanks to this design, missile reloading time is reduced, and the launchers themselves become more mobile.
