A Victory Parade took place in Kaliningrad, the key moment of which was the passage of a retro column of 10 units of equipment from the Great Patriotic War.
According to a TASS correspondent, legendary T-34 tanks that personally participated in the storming of the fortress city of Koenigsberg, the BM-13 "Katyusha" multiple rocket launcher, and a ZIL-157 off-road truck with a ZiS-3 divisional gun – one of the most recognizable symbols of the war – drove across Victory Square.
Combined detachments of fleet staff officers, warrant officers and ensigns, female service members of the Baltic Fleet, marines, and cadets – a total of about 1,000 people – marched solemnly in front of the equipment.
Thus, Kaliningrad demonstrated an unbreakable connection between generations: combat vehicles that took Koenigsberg 80 years ago once again took to the city's streets.
