Delimobil is the first among Russian carsharing services to introduce car rental without internet access – via a call to a voice support robot. The function is designed for unstable connectivity conditions: the user pre-books a car in the application from a Wi-Fi zone, and then, standing next to the car, calls the robot using a special button. Further steps involve touch-tone dialing and voice prompts for photo fixation of the car. At the end of the trip, the doors are locked via Bluetooth, and the rental itself is completed with a phone call.
The solution is integrated into the service's operational framework under mobile internet restrictions: on April 23, the Ministry of Digital Development included Delimobil in the "white list" of online services available during outages. By the end of the first quarter of 2026, the company's fleet decreased to 27,300 cars, but the average trip duration increased by 34%, and revenue per car grew by 13.2%.
The launch of rental by phone call is not so much a technological attraction as a pragmatic adaptation of the business to the reality of communication interruptions. Carsharing, which relies solely on mobile internet, loses access to the car with any network failure. Now, the critical threshold – opening and closing the car – is overcome without dependence on signal quality.
