Rospatent names five inventions to combat stress: from VR helmets to cortisol sensors

The list includes a device for sweat analysis and a method for predicting stress response in military personnel

Rospatent experts have selected five Russian developments aimed at diagnosing and reducing stress. Among them, a virtual reality helmet with a psychological rehabilitation program and a biosensor for precise control of the "stress hormone" were particularly highlighted. RIA Novosti reviewed the document.

The sensor, created at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics SB RAS, is made in the form of a special patch. It collects biomaterial, in particular sweat, and determines the current level of cortisol in the blood, which allows identifying the stage of stress before a critical surge.

Another approach was proposed by engineers from the company "Kiberli": the patient puts on a VR helmet and launches a rehabilitation program corresponding to the diagnosis made by the doctor, gradually learning to accept a psychotraumatic situation and not react to it.

Specialists from the Serbsky Center for Psychiatry patented a technology for predicting stress resistance. The person is shown videos with neutral, conflict, and threatening scenarios, while an electrocardiogram is recorded and saliva is analyzed. This method is already focused on the professional selection of military personnel and law enforcement officers.

Voronezh State University, in turn, created a medicinal collection based on Polemonium, St. John's wort, and horse chestnut, which does not affect motor activity and is not addictive.

In turn, Belgorod researchers proposed effervescent bath tablets with magnesium citrate, which restore ion balance and slow down CNS excitation.
