End of Monopoly: PIK New Buildings to Open Access to Other Internet Providers

Residents will be given more choice - different providers will be able to lay networks on equal terms

The situation where only one internet provider operates in a building may become a thing of the past. PIK residential complexes are starting to open access to other telecommunication operators – now they will be able to place their networks in the buildings. This was announced by the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

The operator "Lovitel", which works in PIK buildings, has developed and published a procedure for accessing the cable duct system – that is, the infrastructure through which communication networks are laid.

The document establishes uniform and non-discriminatory conditions for all operators. They will be able to place their equipment and networks on Lovitel's infrastructure for an economically justified fee.

Previously, PIK management companies had already reviewed 330 applications from operators who wanted to enter the buildings. Joint inspections of common property were carried out, and companies were provided with technical documentation.

Now, having gained access to the cable duct system, new operators will be able to develop projects for installing their networks and submit them for approval to the management companies.

The FAS emphasized that it will continue to monitor the actions of the PIK group to ensure that access to the infrastructure remains equal for all market participants.
