The European Union included the Simbirsk Design Bureau (SKB) in its 20th package of sanctions. The company produces Piranja kamikaze drones.
The EU claims that SKB manufactures at least 10,000 UAVs of this type per month. No other details were provided by the council of the community.
In February 2026, SKB stated that since 2022 it had produced more than 35,000 Piranja drones. The plant's priority is the complete replacement of imported components and software with domestic equivalents developed in-house.
It is known that the Piranja kamikaze drone has a flight range of up to 30 km and carries a payload of up to 8 kg thanks to eight motors. At the same time, its height is only 33 cm, which makes the UAV convenient for transport and almost invisible in the air.
