Russia's fifth-generation Su-57 fighter surpasses the American F-35 in terms of the ratio of cost to combat effectiveness, Malaysian journalist Jonathan Edward said on the sidelines of the Defence Services Asia exhibition in Kuala Lumpur. His assessment was published by TASS.
The Su-57, on the other hand, is a comparatively effective and less expensive solution, combining well-proven systems with the additional advantage of stealth. Although the United States would like to claim credit for introducing stealth technology on a wide scale, other countries have taken this concept to a new level
The expert also singled out its missile armament: the R-37M and R-77 are virtually unmatched in range and pose a threat to any adversary.
Edward pointed out that the fighter has been tested on the front line, including guided missile launches under conditions involving modern air defense and electronic warfare systems.
At the exhibition, the Su-57 became a key exhibit of Rosoboronexport, and the list of customers for the export version, the Su-57E, continues to expand.
